Laser Tattoo Removal
Do you have a tattoo regret? You have come to the right place!
At The Laser Room Truro I use an ND yag laser which offers fast, effective tattoo removal. There is no safer, faster and cheaper method of tattoo removal.
Most clients have their tattoos removed in 4-6 sessions, some tattoos can take around 12 sessions to completely move deep, dark ink or some colours such as blue and red.
Laser tattoo removal works by the laser light targeting the ink particles which breaks them down into small enough fragments that can be flushed out naturally by your body.
During your consultation you will need to fill out a full medical history and your Laser Specialist will make an estimate of the number of tattoo removal sessions needed to remove your tattoo. After paperwork and any questions you have are answered you will be given a small test patch, you must then wait 1 week to ensure you are suitable for the treatment.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment duration depends on the size of the tattoo being treated. Treatment can be as short as a few minutes to 45 minutes. The cut off time for one session at The Laser Room Truro is 45 minutes due to your skin having to rest, larger areas can be split up to make the treatment more comfortable.
What to expect?
The treatment itself is a series of laser pulses that are fired rapidly next to each other in a pattern along the tattoo. The skin will frost which means it will turn white in colour, this is a normal reaction and the frosting will go in within 40 minutes, the area may well swell somewhat and may turn red, but this usually lasts only a few hours. It is important to use an antibacterial ointment on the tattoo and let the skin breath as much as possible. Blistering is a normal and common healing process.
Is the treatment painful?
The discomfort of laser tattoo removal is often described as a “rubber band snapping the skin” but this tolerance can vary from client to client.
Refrain from using soap on the area and use water only when cleaning the treatment area. No shaving, no fragranced lotions on the treatment area, do not expose the treatment area to the sun or sunbeds and use sun block (SPF 50) whenever the treatment area is exposed. Avoid heat treatments such as saunas/steam rooms etc for 7 days post treatment.
