How does Laser hair removal work?
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.
How is the treatment carried out? How long is it?
The area will need to be shaved prior to treatment, an ultrasound gel will be put on the area and the laser is passed over a body or face area and a short pulse of light is released, the light picks up the melanin (the pigment in the hair) which targets many follicles simultaneously. The Laser is always in motion which allows the light to pick up and destroy lots of hairs at once quickly and efficiently. Treatment time can be anywhere between 5 minutes for a small area and up to 45 minutes for a large area.
Am I suitable for treatment?
Most people are suitable however the best results are seen with people who have light skin and dark hair. The Laser Room offers the Alexandrite which is effective in treating fairer hair types. Please note that grey or white hair will not be destroyed as it has no melanin, the only way the hair will be picked up by the laser is if there is pigment at the root.
Is laser hair removal a lasting treatment method?
The Soprano laser hair removal system can offer significant, long-term results, for many people permanent results.
Is laser hair removal safe?
The Soprano laser hair removal system is clinically proven to be both safe and effective.
Do you use IPL hair removal?
The Soprano hair removal system is not an IPL system – it is a superior machine and the best on the market for effective hair reduction. Many places do advertise IPL as laser hair removal, so it is important to find out what machine is being used and always make sure the machine being used is medically and FDA approved.
